Heartland Events for the Animals!
Heartland Animal Shelter presents a variety of events throughout the year. Some focus on education and awareness, some focus on fundraising and some are just plain fun! All of them have the ultimate goal of helping the animals we care for.

Your pet is already the king or queen of the household, right? Now they can reign for a very important reason, to help other pets still waiting for their own forever-home!
We invite you to participate in the Golden Paw & A-cat-emy Awards Pet Pageant and Photo Contest! This will be the not-to-miss attraction during the 2011 Golden Paw Gala!
Before the event create a Golden Paw or
A-cat-emy Awards Online Page at www.firstgiving.com/has. Every dollar donated will be counted as a vote! Complementary Gala admission will be awarded to contestants for each $250 they raise for the animals at Heartland!
The canine who raises the most for the animals will win the prestigious Golden Paw Award, while a feline will win the esteemed A-cat-emy Award!
Prizes will also be awarded for Best Dressed, Silliest Pose, Most Loveable Face, Mr. or Miss Congeniality and Biggest Smile. It takes just a few minutes and it will mean so much to the animals.

During the evening at the Golden Paw Gala, felines who participate will be featured via their photograph on the big screen, while canines may appear in person on stage or via photograph on the big screen.
